Abstract

A system for automatically pausing and re-playing a video program and its method are disclosed. When a subscriber is watching a video program and a call comes in, the video program is automatically paused and re-played based on the subscriber's selection and the calling status. The present invention utilizes a telephone module to receive an incoming call signal and search the identification of the incoming caller and uses a video program module connected to the telephone module through a signal line to mutually transmit messages with the telephone module, so that the vide program signal and a reminder signal are transmitted to the display module to show the selection message and the incoming caller identification that are provided for the subscriber to selectively answer or save the incoming call. The subscriber selects whether or not to answer the incoming call through a subscriber selection module. The video program module automatically pauses and re-plays the video program based on the subscriber selection and the calling status.
