Abstract

The present invention provides an automatic tuning method for electronic program table that is not embedded in a television or other audiovisual display device. The method includes steps of acquiring a related program information from a program data and presenting the information on the television in an audiovisual manner; and simulating and issuing a control signal for switching the television channel in accordance with the user's choice to automatically switch the television to the program channel selected by user. As the method is not built in television, it can be employed in cooperation with any television. Besides, it is unnecessary for the method to be implemented on the path between television and audiovisual signal, and the picture quality of audiovisual signal in turn won't be affected.
