Description

The invention relates to medicine and can be used for electrical stimulation of the muscles of the soft palate, restoration of speech function in children, with congenital cleft palate.

The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of muscle stimulation by ensuring a snug fit of the electrodes to the mucous membrane of the soft palate with the possibility of changing the place of exposure.

The drawing shows a device, General view.

The device consists of a maxillary plate 1, on the outer surface of the plate there are six pairs of supporting retaining loops 2 and three longitudinal grooves 3, in one of which is placed the power cord 4 of the electrodes 5. The electrodes 5 are fixed to the free ends of the loop-shaped wire spring holder 6. which goes beyond the supporting fixing loops 2. At the lateral ends and in the middle part of the holder 6 there are made wavy bends 7 located in a vertical plane.

The device operates as follows.

The power cord 4 is placed in the middle longitudinal groove 3 and fixed with support loops 2. Then, the electrodes 5 with the holder 6 are pushed behind the support loops 2. The device is inserted into the patient's oral cavity until the electrodes 5 rest against the mucous membrane of the soft palate and the density π ri is adjusted. I Vi a nia of electrodes with the help of wave-like bends 7. Then the maxillary plate with the electrodes fixed in it is removed from the oral cavity and the heated thermoplastic mass (stack) is applied to the internal surface of the alveolar part, introduced into the oral cavity and squeezed well throughout dentition. A passive electrode is applied to the wrist, a stimulation unit is connected and a session of electrical stimulation of the muscles of the soft palate is carried out according to the accepted method.

After the session, the stimulation block is turned off, the passive electrode is removed, and the device is removed from the patient’s oral cavity.

If it is necessary to stimulate the halves of the soft palate, the cord and holder with electrodes are installed in the extreme grooves of the plate.
