Abstract

The steering arrangement of a sailing vessel comprises a box (1), which is kinematically connected with a control member (12) in order to effect its turning, and which is articulated to a hull (2) of the vessel through an upper hinge (3) and a lower hinge (4), and a rudder blade (6), which is connected with lateral walls (8) of the box through a horizontal axis (7), and which is provided with a means for its turning about said axis. The horizontal axis (7) is affixed in the upper portion of the box (¦), substantially, on the same level as the upper hinge (3). On the level of the lower hinge (4) an accessory (9, 11) is mounted in order to maintain constant the specified distance between the lower back portions of the lateral walls (8) of the box (1) whilst the rudder blade (6) is secured in the lower position.
