Abstract

Device for monitoring an area which is accessible via a door or the like. A detector located in the door has an IR transmitter-receiver with a narrow transmission beam, which is in intermittent signal communication with an IR receiver-transmitter inside the area. An alarm is sounded when the transmission beam falls outside the receiver on account of the door being opened. <IMAGE>
