Abstract

Public transport vehicles respond to information transmitted by a central station to indicate to passengers route information and details. Each stop along the route has an antenna loop (1) that can be used for two way transmissions. Coupled to this is an amplifier, band-pass filter, detector and switching stage. - The approach of a vehicle causes the unit to be activated and coded information is provided by a generator that identifies the location. Signals are relayed into the vehicle via an antenna (12) and an on-board processor (17) provides the necessary conversion into display data.
