[Also in Division G2] A panoramic light signal receiver comprises a reflector in the form of a surface of revolution with a generally vertical axis of symmetry which deflects laterally incident beams towards the axial zone where a detector is disposed. Light 12, Fig.2, from any direction within a predetermined angle of the horizontal is reflected by a conical mirror 5' through lenses 10, an aperture 11 and a filter 9 to fall on a photo-cell 8. Light 14 arriving from above may be focused on the photo-cell by a lens 13 mounted in a central aperture in mirror 5'. In the modification of Fig. 3, the reflecting surfaces are the surfaces of a light guide 15. In Fig. 4, beams from below the horizontal are reflected directly to the photo-cell 8 by the surface 16b and beams from above the horizontal are reflected from the surface 16a and the mirror 18 to the photo-cell 8. In Fig. 5, the beams 23 are reflected from the opposite side of the transparent block 21 after passing through filters 24. The invention may be used on a target to record "hits" by laser beams simulating gun shots.
