Claims

1. A method of controlling a game process in which a player bets on a game outcome, the method comprising: providing a secure device comprising a secure first processor means and associated secure memory means; storing in a protected memory means the first data related to the control and the game process for use by the protected processor means; storing in a secure memory medium of the second data representing the value of the credit allocated to the player; providing gaming means operated by a user comprising second processor means, water means and display means; transmitting the input signals to the secure first processor means from the input means through the second processor means to start a game and enter a bet; a decrease in the value of the loan represented by the second data by an amount corresponding to the bet made by the player; transmitting output signals representing the result of the game from the secure first processor means to the display means through the second processor means; and increasing or decreasing the value of the loan in accordance with the outcome of the game; in which the control of the result of the game and the increase or decrease of the credit value is carried out in the protected device by operations performed with the first and second data stored in the memory and with data obtained from the input signals protected by the first processor means.

A process control system for a game in which a player bets on a game outcome, the system comprising: a secure device comprising a secure first processor means with associated secure memory means; and gaming means, user-driven, comprising: second processor means; input means connected to the secure first processor means through the second processor means and driven by the player to transmit input signals to the secure first processor means to start the game; and display means connected to the first secure processor means through the second processor means for receiving output signals representing the outcome of the game from the secure first processor means; in which the protected memory means stores the first data related to the control and the game process and the second data representing the credit value allocated to the player, and in which the protected first processor means reduces the value of the credit represented by the second data by an amount corresponding to the bet made player, and increasing or decreasing the value of the loan in accordance with the result of the game, and the result of the game and increasing or decreasing the value of the loan are controlled protected device operations performed with the stored first and second data and with data obtained from the input signals protected by the first processor means.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the secure device is a smart card containing a substrate that carries a secure processor and memory, associated electronic circuits and contact means to enable communication between the processor and input and display means .

4. The system of claim 2 or 3, wherein the input means is a computer keyboard, a telephone keypad or a keypad on a dedicated gaming device.

5. The system of claim 2 or 3, wherein the input means comprises a “touch screen” display.

6. The system of claim 2 or 3, wherein the input means comprises a mouse.

7. The system according to any one of paragraphs. 2-6, in which the display means comprises a television receiver, a video display, or a monitor or a liquid crystal display.

8. The system according to any one of paragraphs. 2-7, in which the protected memory means includes a first memory for storing the first data and a second memory for storing the second data, which are changed in accordance with the result of the game.

A secure device for use in a system for controlling a game process in which a player relies on a game outcome, the secure device comprising a secure first processor means with associated secure memory means, in which the secure memory means stores first data related to control and the game process, and the second data representing the credit value allocated to the player, and in which the protected first processor means provides a decrease in the credit value presented second data, by an amount corresponding to the bet made by the player, and increasing or decreasing the credit value in accordance with the result of the game, moreover, the game result and increasing or decreasing the credit value are controlled in the protected device by operations performed with the first and second data stored and data obtained from the input signals by the protected first processor means, while the protected first processor means is configured to connect to the input means, led away by a player, for transmitting the input signals to the secure first processor means via the second processor means, and in addition, is adapted to be coupled with display means arranged for receiving output signals from the secure first processor means via the second processor means representing a result of the game.
