Claims (10)

1. Способ определения местонахождения абонентского устройства в системе радиосвязи, содержащий следующие операции:
посылают первый сигнал, включающий запрос местонахождения, от первой базовой станции на абонентское устройство;
принимают второй сигнал, включающий ответное сообщение от абонентского устройства, причем ответное сообщение содержит время приема первого сигнала и время передачи второго сигнала;

1. A method for determining the location of a subscriber device in a radio communication system, comprising the following operations:
sending a first signal including a location request from the first base station to the subscriber unit;
receiving a second signal including a response message from the subscriber unit, the response message comprising a reception time of a first signal and a transmission time of a second signal;
receiving a predetermined symbol associated with the second signal at the first base station and some second base station, and determining a first and second reception time of the predetermined symbol at the first and second base stations, respectively; and
determine the location of the subscriber device based on the time of reception of the first signal by the subscriber device, the time of transmission of the second signal by the subscriber device, the first and second time of reception of a predetermined symbol and predetermined information about the first and second base stations.

3. A radio communication system for determining the location of a communication medium, comprising
(a) a first base station containing
(i) a transmitter of a first base station for transmitting a first spread spectrum signal including a location request to a communication medium;
(ii) a receiver of a first base station for receiving a second spread spectrum signal including a response message from a communication means, the response message including a reception time of a first signal and a transmission time of this signal, the receiver of a first base station further comprising a detector of a first base station for receiving a predetermined symbol of the second signal from the communication medium and determining a reception time of the predetermined symbol;
(b) a second base station comprising a second receiver for receiving a predetermined symbol of the second signal and determining a second reception time of the predetermined symbol; and
(c) a controller associated with the first and second base stations, comprising means for determining the location of the communication means based on the reception time of the first signal, the transmission time of the first signal, the first and second reception time of a predetermined symbol and predetermined information about the first and second base stations .

4. A method for determining the location of a subscriber device in a communication system, comprising the following operations:
(a) receiving a signal from a subscriber unit in a first base station and in a second base station, the signal being generated by modulation with a sequence of spread spectrum symbols;
(b) determining a first reception time of a symbol of a given sequence of spreading symbols in a first base station;
(c) determining a second reception time of a given symbol in a second base station; and
(d) determining the location of the subscriber unit based on the first and second reception times, as well as predetermined information from the first and second base stations.

6. A method for determining the location of a subscriber device communicating in a radio communication system having a plurality of base stations, including the following operations carried out in a subscriber device:
