EFFECT: invention provides preparation in form of an ointment for increasing the effectiveness of treatment of finger dermatitis and other purulent necrotic lesions of the distal parts of the limbs of cattle, which has anesthetic, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects.

Description

The invention relates to veterinary medicine, in particular to drugs used in the treatment of purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal limbs of cattle, which include digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease).

This disease is spread all over the world and causes great damage to dairy farming. Finger dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) in cattle mainly affects dairy cows, is localized more often on the skin of the arch of the inter-hoof crevice of the hind limbs in the form of round erosion 1-5 cm in size [Kovalenko A.M. In the last decade, the number of animals affected by digital cattle dermatitis in Russia has increased dramatically [Lopatin S.V. There is an ointment for the treatment of purulent wounds [RU 2035183 C1, A61K 35/78 (1995.01), A61K 31/00 (1995.01), 05/20/1995] in farm animals, which includes copper sulfate. It contributes to the rapid healing of wounds. However, information on the use of this ointment for the treatment of digital dermatitis in cattle in available literature sources was not found.

An analogue is zinc ointment [Zhulenko VN, Volkova OI, Usha B.V. General and Clinical Veterinary Formulation: Reference Book / Ed. Prof. Zhulenko V.N. - 2nd ed. - M .: Kolos, 2000 .-- p. 161], which in its composition contains zinc oxide 10%, the rest is an ointment base. Zinc ointment has an astringent, drying, anti-inflammatory and disinfecting effect. Apply this ointment for skin diseases (wet wounds, burns, dermatitis, furunculosis, pyoderma, pressure sores, etc.). Data on the use of zinc ointment against digital dermatitis in cattle was not found.

The drug has a bactericidal effect on causative agents of digital dermatitis in cattle, as well as anti-inflammatory, drying and wound healing effects. The disadvantage of this drug is the lack of an anesthetic component in it. An anesthetic is necessary, since purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal extremities are accompanied by severe pain.

The objective of the invention is to provide a preparation in the form of an ointment to increase the effectiveness of the treatment of digital dermatitis and other purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal extremities of cattle, which has anesthetic, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects.

This is achieved by preparing a drug for the treatment of digital dermatitis (Mortellaro disease) and other purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal extremities of cattle in the form of an ointment containing the following components in its composition in the following proportions, wt.%:

copper sulfate 35-45 zinc oxide 7-9 salicylic acid 2-2.5 sea salt 1-1.5 silver microparticles 0.0001 ointment base rest

The active components of the drug (copper sulfate, zinc oxide, silver microparticles) have a pronounced antimicrobial effect on pathogenic microorganisms that cause purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal extremities of cattle; salicylic acid has anti-inflammatory, anesthetic and antimicrobial effects; adding sea salt helps reduce swelling of the affected tissue.

A drug for the treatment of digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) and other purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal limbs of cattle in the form of an ointment is prepared by mixing the components until a homogeneous mass is obtained.

The drug for the treatment of digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) and other purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal limbs of cattle in the form of an ointment is a homogeneous viscous mass of pale blue.

The drug for the treatment of digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) and other purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal limbs of cattle in the form of an ointment is used by applying to the affected skin. The duration of the course of treatment depends on the severity of the pathological process and ranges from 1 to 4 applications.

In the dairy livestock sector, which contains Holstein dairy cattle, loose housing, 35 cows were selected with signs of damage to the distal extremities. Cows were divided into 2 groups - experimental and control. Animals in the groups were selected according to the principle of analogues, taking into account age, productivity, fatness and degree of lameness. For the treatment of cows of the experimental group, dressings with a developed preparation for the treatment of digital dermatitis (Mortellaro's disease) and other purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal extremities of cattle were used, and dressings with dry copper sulfate powder were used for the control group. Dressings were changed 3-5 days before the recovery of the animal. The results of the study are shown in the table.

Thus, the developed drug showed a high therapeutic effect in diseases of the distal limb of cattle, which confirms its antimicrobial, anesthetic and anti-inflammatory activity.
