Abstract
Description
The invention relates to applied nuclear technology, in particular to the production of new materials.
Various methods for the synthesis of new materials are known.
A known method for producing stable isotopes by synthesizing new elements in microbiological structures [RF patent 2052223, 1996], for example, according to the reaction schemes Cr 52 + p 1 -> Mn 53 or Co 58 + p 1 -> Ni 60 . The method is low-tech for industrial applications.
There is a method of producing new materials by a reaction proceeding upon saturation of palladium crystals with deuterium in the process of electrolysis of heavy water [Japanese application 3300634 from 11/15/91, publ. 05/28/93, 5134098 A2]. The reactor for this electrolysis, selected as a prototype, contains a body filled with heavy water, inside of which there are electrodes — a palladium cathode and a platinum anode. The method is inefficient and not sufficiently technological.
As a prototype, a method for producing silicon was selected by exposing a mixture of crystalline substances containing the basic elements O-Al-P with an electric current density of at least 10 11 A / m 2 [RF patent 2140110, 1999]. The known method does not contain the necessary technological steps to use it in the mass production of new materials.
The technical task of the invention is the improvement of the technology for obtaining new materials.
The inventive method for the synthesis of new materials is carried out by exposing the mixture of starting reagents to electric current. What is new is that the effect is produced by electric current with the density necessary for the appearance of an electric arc in the mixture, and the mixture of reagents is pulverized and found in a capsule immersed in water, and it is better when the capsule is made of quartz (for example, quartz glass).
As reagents, metal oxides can be used.
It is possible to carry out short-term exposure sufficient to breakdown the mixture of starting reagents.
It is better to create a vacuum in the reagent capsule first.
The proposed reactor for carrying out the method comprises a housing filled with water, inside of which an active zone is located. New is that the active zone is made in the form of a capsule of refractory material with a mixture of reagents, crushed to a dusty state, and inside the case also contains a device for supplying electric current to the mixture of reagents.
The reactor vessel can be equipped with a sealed cover, have an inspection window, be equipped with a forced cooling system, and be filled with distilled water. The capsule is better to be sealed to be able to create a vacuum in it. Inside the case, several capsules can be installed simultaneously with their placement in the turret.
A device for supplying electric current may include electrodes mounted inside the housing and having the ability to connect to the contacts made on the capsule, and the capsules placed in the turret are better made cylindrical with the contacts on the ends, and the axis of the capsules should be parallel to the axis of the turret .
Technical features of the invention are illustrated by drawings. Figure 1 shows a vertical section of the reactor, figure 2 is a transverse section of the reactor, and figure 3 is a capsule with the starting reagents.
7. The reactor contains a
The
NaOH, HCl, H2SO4.The following reactions were carried out experimentally in a reactor similar to that described: using oxides — Mg 12 + Al 13 2 O 3 -> Mn 25 + O 2 , Cu 29 + Al 13 2 O 3 -> Mo 42 + O 2 ; using pure substances - Cu 29 + Sn 50 -> Au 79 . The starting reagents were preliminarily crushed to a dusty state. Exposure to electric current with a density of more than 10 10 A / m 2 was carried out at a current pulse duration of less than 10 -3 s. Spectral analysis of the composition of the reacted mixture, for example, according to the last of the above reactions showed the presence of: unreacted substance Cu 29 and Sn 50 ; synthesized substance Au 79 ; remaining due to incomplete pumping of air and oxidation of the initial oxygen reagents O 16 ; carbon trapped in the mixture from the used carbon electrodes, C 12 . The synthesized substance in the form of yellow metallic inclusions was separated from the mixture (about 2.5 wt.%) And studied by physicochemical parameters. The results of the study confirmed the presence of precisely Au 79 in the mixture: melting point 1064 o C; boiling point 2880 o C; density for solid 19.3 g / cm 3 ; density for liquid at 1100 o With 17.2 g / cm 3 ; Brinell hardness 230 MPa; not soluble in solutions of KOH, NaOH, HCl, H 2 SO 4 .
- J. Electroanat. Chem., 1989, v.261, 2, р.301-306]. - Nuovo Cimento, 1979, V.53A, 2, р.251].It seems that overcoming the Coulomb barrier in the fusion of light nuclei into heavier ones occurs due to the following. The initial dusty state of the starting reagents suggests that they are almost ground to an atomic and / or molecular level. When breakdown of a mixture of reagents and the appearance of a high-temperature electric arc, pressure and temperature sharply increase, i.e. without any external pressure, the average distances between the atoms in the reagent melt are only slightly larger than the diameter of the atom (huge pressure would be required to compress the hydrogen plasma to such a density), while the Coulomb barrier remaining already less wide is divided into steps by free electrons, because the reagents are already in an intermediate state between ionic and atomic, and the synthesis process itself is similar to the Fleischmann-Pons synthesis reaction [Fleischmann MJ, Pons SJ - J. Electroanat. Chem., 1989, v. 261, 2, p. 301-306]. It is likely that the synthesis reaction is enhanced due to the Deryagin effect - “The property of freshly formed surfaces of solids to emit high-energy electrons in a vacuum, due to the separation of unlike charges during the formation of juvenile surfaces, leading to the appearance of strong electric fields of intensity up to 10 7 V / cm” [Discovery USSR 290 dated 03.12.1952, registered 07.06.1984]. Tunneling through the Coulomb barrier can also be explained in this case by Sapogin’s theory, according to which the particle’s charge oscillates in time, periodically becoming zero, therefore, to overcome the Coulomb barrier, the phase approach of particles is just important [Sapogin LG - Nuovo Cimento, 1979, V.53A, 2 , p. 251].
