Abstract

Disclosed herein are methods, devices, and apparatuses, including computer programs stored on computer-readable media, for detecting deadlocks in a real-time gross settlement system. One of the methods includes: instructing a plurality of users of the real-time gross settlement system to jointly determine a minimum post transfer liquidity, wherein the minimum post transfer liquidity is jointly determined based on a post transfer liquidity of each of the plurality of users without disclosing by each of the plurality of users of its post transfer liquidity to another user; receiving the jointly determined minimum post transfer liquidity; and determining whether a deadlock exists based- on the minimum post transfer liquidity.
