Description
The invention relates to a method for establishing automatic detection and alarm notification in case of unusual water levels in pipes and containers.
Liquid-carrying pipe installations in residential buildings and other buildings are based on the passage of certain quantities of water. If the quantity of liquid per unit of time exceeds the capacity of the pipe installations, or parts of the pipe network are blocked, so that normal quantities of liquid per unit of time are not allowed to pass, liquid will collect in the pipes, until it flows out into sluice grates, basins and the like. If such conditions are not detected very quickly, flowing liquid will cause damaging floods, and the damage will be particularly great if they occur due to clogged pipes in the higher layers of the building mass.
The purpose of establishing such detection is to reveal if, for example, a drain pipe becomes clogged before any damage occurs, for example if unwanted sewage or water pushes up through the drain pipe after large amounts of rainfall, or because the drain pipe has clogged over time. This avoids damage and the costs these entail.
The detector must warn of unusual liquid levels in one or more selected pipes by giving notice at an early stage, and before the water has reached floor level.
Insurance companies and building owners will save money that the extent of damage is minimized / eliminated, by the fact that blockages are detected and notified in an early phase, and will be able to be rectified before any damage has occurred.
A large part of the municipal pipe systems located in housing estates are of older vintage, with concrete pipes that often break down due to external loads and can cause damage from water or sewage.
The detector can be set up to measure the level in septic tanks and other containers, and provides opportunities for control with maximum and minimum capacity for pumps.
Likewise, the detector can be used to check pipes and containers that are not to be filled with liquid, for example conduits for cables for different uses.
Dersom væskenivået 11 synker og kontakt mellom de to elektrofølerne 4 avbrytes i The present application relates to a method for establishing automatic detection and alarm notification in case of unusual water levels in pipes and containers, and the method is characterized by the characteristics set out in the patent claim. Fig. 1 shows how an example parallelepiped detector unit 1 has been assigned a hoop-shaped sensor unit 2 consisting of a patent band of stainless acid-resistant material, which clings to the outside of a pipe's upper circumference. Depending on which liquid level is desired to be detected in a horizontal pipe, an upper, a middle or a lower detector level is selected, by installing a pair of stripped electrosensors 4 radially through the pipe in the upper pair of holes 2\ the middle pair of holes 2" or the lower pair of holes 2'" in the sensor unit 2. Fig. 2 shows a connection diagram for the detector unit 1, where the special feature for notification that the liquid level 11 rises above a preset level is that the detector unit 1 has a built-in charging circuit function in a delay circuit 3, which delays the output signal by 10 -15 sec, to prevent detector 1 from giving false impulses to the external warning equipment in the event of short-term exceedances of the assumed liquid level. Such false signals could otherwise occur every time a toilet is emptied, or a bucket of water is thrown into the toilet or sink. Fig. 3 shows in section how a detector unit 1 with sensor unit 2 is mounted around the upper circumference of a horizontal liquid-carrying pipe 10 with two electrosensors 4 mounted in the middle pair of holes 2", where the liquid level 11 in the pipe is so low that no contact occurs between the two electrosensors 4 through the liquid. Only if the liquid level 11 rises to the two electrosensors 4, the circuit between the electrosensors 4 is closed, and impulses run to the delay circuit 3, which with its charging circuit function delays the output signal for 10-15 sec. If the liquid level 11 drops and contact between the two electrosensors 4 is interrupted i
Bare dersom kontakt during this period, the output signal will not be sent. Only if contact
Fig. 6 viser eksempler på plassering av høynivå- / lavnivå- detektor i en beholder. between the electrosensors 4 is maintained beyond this period, the output signal will be sent to external warning equipment. Fig. 4 shows examples of choosing the placement of pairs of electrosensors 4 on horizontal pipes. Fig. 5 shows examples of choosing the placement of a pair of electrosensors 4 in a vertical pipe, for example a drain. Fig. 6 shows examples of placement of high-level / low-level detectors in a container.
The detector unit is mounted on plastic pipes, concrete pipes, fiberglass pipes and the like. During installation, the user decides which liquid level is to be notified. In principle, it is just as easy to mount the detector on old as on new pipe installations. Only simple tools are required for assembly.
The detector is intended for pipe diameters from 75 mm to 300 mm. but there is no limitation here.
Operating voltage is between 5 and 24 volts, and the system is polarity protected in case of incorrect connection of + and -.
The construction of the detector is based on universal standard outputs or closed relay in order to be used together with PLC data recorders and other equipment within alarm systems, which makes it beneficial for private individuals and companies to connect it to existing alarm equipment.
The detector is used for horizontal and vertical pipes and containers of all kinds.
