The radiant light intended for reversing can be used in vehicles, in particular trucks.
The present invention relates to a radiant light intended for reversing to be used for vehicles, in particular trucks or passenger cars.
Collisions frequently occur when maneuvering in reverse with 5 trucks or passenger cars. Often only material damage occurs; unfortunately sometimes personal accidents also occur. Apart from the lack of personal assistance, the cause in most cases is the lack of vision that the vehicle driver has. As is known in heavy motor vehicles, a "second pair of eyes" for the driver is formed by the rear view mirror. Such a mirror often gives only a very poor view to the rear at night, and especially when it is wet. Especially in non-illuminated streets and scenes, no mirror image is visible, but only darkness. This is due to the fact that the usual rear-facing light emitters are mounted on the rear of the vehicle in question, not highlighting what the vehicle driver can and would like to see, ie the vehicle side, the route and possible obstacles.
Wanneer het voertuig een relatief grote lengte bezit wordt 25 slechts een naar verhouding klein oppervlak belicht dat zover vanaf de bestuurder is verwijderd dat dit slecht of in het geheel niet zichtbaar is.20 Rear-view lamps intended for motor vehicles are known per se and are fitted at the rear of the vehicle concerned; however, a space is exposed here that cannot be seen from the driver's seat to a sufficient extent or at all. When the vehicle has a relatively great length, only a relatively small area is exposed which is so far away from the driver that it is poorly visible or not visible at all.
The object of the invention is to overcome the drawback of the imperfect driver's view that exists in the rearward direction at night and to make provisions that when the rear view mirror is viewed, the position of the rear wheels is discernible and any obstacles are clearly visible in the mirror.
8120086 -2-8120086 -2-
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the light radiator intended for reversing is integrated with a rear-view mirror such that from the position of the rear-view mirror, when driving in reverse, the roadway located to the side of the wagon 5, in particular that part in the vicinity of the rear wheels ^ as well as possible obstacles, kirmai are illuminated by the radiant beam intended for reversing.
A preferred embodiment according to the invention is further characterized in that the reversing light-emitting lamp is attached to the outside mirror of a relevant vehicle in such a way that the light radiation as emitted by this reversing light-emitting lamp is independent of the position of the rear-view mirror in horizontal direction can be set and fixed.
In further explanation of the invention, an exemplary embodiment thereof will be described below with reference to the drawing, in which: Fig. 1 represents a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment; and Fig. 2 shows a diagram illustrating the operation.
At the lower end of an exterior rear-view mirror 1, a light radiator 2 intended for reversing is mounted, the light emitter of which the light radiation emitted by it can be directed horizontally independently of the rear-view mirror. His ideal direction with regard to the vertical has already been given by the corresponding set mirror position. With such a radiant light intended for reversing which is attached to the rear-view mirror, it is now possible to illuminate an entire space as it is bounded by the rear-view mirror so that it is also visible to the driver. The advantages obtained with this are clear; as during the day, the driver can now see where he is with his rear wheels and where he is driving. The driver cannot be blinded by such a light beam intended for reversing, since the light radiation thereby imparted does not run in his viewing direction.
35 In fig. Fig. 1 illustrates a rear-view mirror 1 with a light radiator 2, 8120086 -3- integrated therein for reversing, all this being mounted in front of and on the right-hand side of a cabin 3 of a vehicle 8. The rear-view mirror, on the one hand, and the radiant light intended for reversing, on the other hand, are each separate parts situated directly above one another. The rear-view mirror 5 and the radiant light intended for reversing are mounted on a vertical support rod 4, which is shown by broken lines. The parts 1 and 2 are rotatable relative to each other and around this support rod 4. When set in a proper position, they can be fixed with respect to each other by means of a wing nut 5 located on the threaded bottom end portion of the carrying rod .4. The carrying rod 4 is mounted on the carrier 6 by means of a conventional connecting member (not shown in more detail).
In front of the glass plate of the light radiator intended for reversing, a grid-shaped, matted black radiation screen 10 can be provided, whereby the light source is covered in the viewing direction.
In fig. In Fig. 2, intersecting lines indicate the illuminated area 7 as it is illuminated in a deep conventional manner at the rear of a vehicle 8 intended for reversing light beams. The area which can be illuminated by applying the present invention is indicated by 9 through the oblique lines. This area has been widened with regard to both the rear and the two longitudinal sides of the vehicle in question.
The switching means which form part of the electrical equipment of this rear-facing light-emitter are coupled to the "reverse" of the vehicle, ie as soon as the vehicle for reversing is engaged, the rear-facing light-emitting lights illuminate when the reverse is turned off, will be extinguished.
