Abstract

The invention provides a system for providing customised content items to a user who makes a search request on a computing device. The system comprises a plurality of local content searching sub-systems interacting with each other over a global semantic engine (11). The local content searching sub-systems are each configured to analyse the search request according to user location and preferences, in order to obtain one or more matched content items for display to the user. If no matched content item is obtained, a global semantic engine (11) is used to further analyse the search request, so that the local content searching sub-system is provided with another plurality of content items from a nearest content searching sub-system for display to the user. A method is also provided herein to perform the same. (Figure 1)
