Abstract
[Problem] To provide an elevator which can be operated by effectively utilizing battery power and can be continuously operated without any problem even in the case of a power failure. [Means for Solving the Problem] An elevator according to one embodiment includes a drive device 1 0 configured to drive a traction machine 2 on power supplied from a commercial power source 1, a battery device 20 configured to store power generated during a regenerative drive and supply the stored power to the drive device 10 during a power drive, and a control device 30 connected to the commercial power source 1 and the battery device 20, the control device 30 being configured to be disconnected from the commercial power source 1 during a regular drive and control operation of the elevator using power supplied from the battery device 20.
