Abstract

THE INVENTION RELATES TO TELEVISION RECEIVER INCLUDING A PICTURE SCREEN (1) ON WHICH A NORMAL PICTURE (2) IS DISPLAYED. WITHIN THE PICTURE A BOX (3) OF THE RECTANGULAR FORM IS DISPLAYED, WITHIN THE BOX CHARACTERS (4) ARE DISPLAYED INCLUDING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR THE VIEWER. THE NORMAL PICTURE IS ALSO DISPLAYED WITHIN THE AREA OF BOX EXCEPT THE SMALL AREAS OF THE CHARACTERS. THE CONTRAST OF THE NORMAL PICTURE WITHIN THE BOX IS REDUCED WITH RESPECT TO THE CONTRAST OF THE PICTURE OUTSIDE THE BOX. THE PICTURE CAN ALSO BE REGARDED WITHIN THE AREA OF BOX WHEREAS THE READABILITY OF THE CHARACTERS IS NOT DECREASED. DURING NORMAL PICTURE OUTSIDE THE BOX, THE VIDEO SIGNAL IS FED FROM A TERMINAL (5) VIA A LEAD (6).
