Abstract

A method of transmitting a broadcast message using a Forward Common Control Channel (F-CCCH) in a wireless communication system is disclosed. More specifically, a base station determines whether a periodic enhanced broadcast page is enabled or disabled, and then transmits at least one broadcast message via a first slot of a broadcast paging cycle of the F-CCCH if determined that the periodic enhanced broadcast page is enabled.

Description

A METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING DISSEMINATION MESSAGES IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a method for transmitting a broadcast message, and more particularly, to a method for transmitting a broadcast message in a mobile communication system. BACKGROUND TECHNIQUE A broadcast message uses a burst message to transmit all or specific groups of mobile stations. At the same time, the mobile stations are in a specified mode when they receive the broadcast message. If the broadcast message is transmitted via a Direct or Direct Common Control Channel (F-CCCH), and a Common Secondary Broadcast Control Channel (S-BCCH), the control information of the broadcast message to be transmitted is sent through the F-CCCH. For example, the control information includes information related to whether the broadcast message has been transmitted, and the information of the Enhanced Broadcast Page which indicates the location of the broadcast message transmitted in the S-BCCH. According to the conventional method, the aforementioned broadcast message is transmitted via the S-BCCH. Plus specifically, the broadcast message is not transmitted by means of the Primary Broadcast Control Channel (P-BCCH), which is used to transmit only a complementary message, nor via the F-CCCH. However, the information on the Enhanced Broadcast Page may be transmitted using the Multiple Broadcast Diffusion Page scheme or a Periodic Enhanced Broadcast Paging scheme. Figure 1 is an example showing the Multiple Time Strip Enhanced Diffusion Paging scheme. In detail, the Multiple Time Strip Diffusion paging scheme is a scheme which transmits the information of the Enhanced Broadcast Page during the F-CCCH time slots in such a way that all mobile stations can receive the signal from diffusion. Here, all mobile stations are in shaved mode or time slots to receive the broadcast signal. As illustrated in Figure 1, if a period of the Maximum Paging Cycle of the F-CCCH is 16 time slots, the information on the Enhanced Broadcast Page can be transmitted continuously in the 16 time slots. In addition, the information on the Enhanced Dissemination page can be received by all mobile stations that receive the different time slots in the F-CCCH.
Figure 2 is an example illustrating a scheme of Improved Periodic Diffusion Pagination where a BCAST_INDICE is 1. In Figure 2, the information on whether the Periodic Enhanced Broadcast Pagination is being used can be determined by the BCAST_INDICE of a message of Parameters of MC-RR. For example, the value of BCAST_EXDEX represented by '000' indicates that the scheme of Periodic Improved Diffusion Pagination. On the other hand, if the value of the BCAST_EXDICE is not v000 'then a Periodic Enhanced Broadcast Paging scheme having a period of the transmission paging cycle is used.
(B + 7) Here, the value of VB? can be determined according to Equation 1. [Equation 1] £ = 2l + 'xl6 l < i < 7 In equation 1, i represents a value of the BCAST_EXDICE transmitted via the parameter message of MC-RR. In Figure 2, the value of the BCAST_INDEX is 41 'and when applied to Equation 1, the value of B is 64 and the broadcast paging cycle is 71. The Enhanced Broadcast Page information is transmitted by means of a first timeframe of the F-CCCH of the broadcast paging cycle, and the information of the Enhanced Broadcasting Page includes BCCH_INDICE and TIME_DISPLAZAMIENTO. Accordingly, the transmission locations of the S-BCCH and the broadcast message can be identified by the information on the Enhanced Broadcast Page. A plurality of BCCH is classified in the Broadcast Control Channel Number (BCN). In detail, the BCN value of the P-BCCH is 1, and the BCN value of the S-BCCH can be any number between 2-8. the broadcast message is transmitted through the S-BCCH after 40x (SHIFT_TIME) ms with respect to the transmission point of the enhanced broadcast page information. Here, the BCN value of the S-BCCH is BCCH_EXDICE + 1.
As described above, in order to transmit a broadcast message, the information on the Enhanced Broadcast Page, which provides information on whether the broadcast message should be transmitted and the location of the broadcast message transmission, should be transmitted first through the F-CCCH. Then the current broadcast message is transmitted through the S-BCCH. However, the problem with this transmission scheme is that the current broadcast message can not be transmitted by means of the F-CCCH. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Therefore, the present invention is directed to a method for transmitting broadcast messages in a system of mobile communications that substantially avoids one or more problems due to limitations and disadvantages of the related art. An object of the present invention is to provide a method for transmitting a broadcast message using a Common Front Control Channel (F-CCCH) in a wireless communication system where a plurality of broadcast messages are transmitted by means of a first band of broadcast page cycle time. Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for transmitting a broadcast message using a Direct or Direct Common Control Channel (F-CCCH) in a wireless communication system where a single broadcast message is transmitted by means of at least one a time slot of a broadcast paging cycle. A further objective of the present invention is to provide a method for transmitting a broadcast message using a Common Front Control Channel (F-CCCH) in a wireless communication system where less one broadcast message is transmitted included in each time slot of the Maximum paging cycle. The advantages, objectives and additional features of the invention will be defined in part in the description which follows, and in part will become apparent to those persons who have ordinary experience in the art, upon examination of the following, or can be learned from the practice of the invention. The objects and other advantages of the invention can be realized and obtained by the structure indicated in particular in the written description and the claims thereof and in the accompanying drawings. To achieve these objectives and other advantages and in accordance with the purpose of the invention, as incorporated herein and broadly described, a method for transmitting a broadcast message using a Common Front Control Channel (F-CCCH) in a wireless communication system includes a base station which determines whether to enable or disable a periodic enhanced transmission page, and then transmits at least one broadcast message via a first time slot of a paging cycle of diffusion of the F-CCCH if it is determined that the periodic enhanced diffusion page is activated. In another aspect of the present invention, a base station determines whether to enable or disable periodic enhanced broadcast paging, and then transmits a single broadcast message via at least one time slot of a broadcast paging cycle of the F-CCCH. if it is determined that the periodic enhanced broadcast page is activated.
Still further, in another aspect of the present invention a base station first determines whether the periodic enhanced broadcast page is turned on or off. Then, the base station transmits at least one broadcast paging message by means of at least one time slot of a broadcast paging cycle of the F-CCCH if it is determined that periodic enhanced broadcast paging is activated, and also transmits at least one broadcast message in a subsequent broadcast time slot according to an order of the broadcast paging message. In another aspect of the present invention, a base station transmits a maximum rate of the time slot cycle to provide the broadcast message to a mobile station and receives the maximum rate of the time slot cycle and determines a maximum paging cycle. After, the base station transmits at least one broadcast message included in each time slot of the maximum paging cycle of the F-CCCH, and then receives the at least one broadcast message in a specified time slot of the maximum paging cycle. It should be understood that both the foregoing general description and the following detailed description of the present invention are exemplary and explanatory and are made to provide a further explanation of the invention as claimed. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The appended drawings, which are included to provide a further understanding of the invention and are incorporated and form part of this application, illustrate the embodiment (s) of the invention and together with the description serve to explain the principles of the invention. BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Whenever possible, the same reference numbers will be used in all the drawings to refer to the same or similar parts. A mobile station (MS) has the right to know if the S-BCCH is supported, which is used to transmit a broadcast message. The MS can determine whether the S-BCCH is supported or not, based on the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST included in the parameter message of MC-RR. For example, if the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is? 000 ', the MS can determine that the S-BCCH is not supported, whereas if the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is not 000', then not only the MS can determine that the value is supported. S-BCCH, but the number of S-BCCHs supported can also be determined since the number of S-BCCH supported is equal to the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST. The present invention can be applied to cases where the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is 1000 'and as a result the S-BCCH is not supported to transmit a broadcast message. In situations where the S-BCCH is not supported, it can be use two transmission schemes, that is, a transmission scheme of Multiple Time Spread Diffusion Messages, and a transmission scheme of Periodic Enhanced Diffusion Paging. Figure 3 is an example illustrating the broadcast scheme of Multiple Time Strip Broadcast Messages when a maximum paging cycle is 16 time bands. As illustrated in Figure 3, the Multiple Time Spread Diffusion Paging scheme is a scheme which transmits the information of the Enhanced Diffusion Page in the time slots in the F-CCCH in such a way that all the mobile stations can receive the broadcast signal. Here, all mobile stations are in slot mode or time slots to receive the broadcast signal. In addition, the Improved Multiple Time Strip Paging scheme can be applied to cases where the broadcast message is transmitted by means of a single time slot in the F-CCCH. If a base station (BS) continuously transmits the broadcast message in 16 time slots in the F-CCCH, each MS can successfully receive the broadcast message even if each MS in a cell receives the broadcast message by means of different strips of time in the F-CCCH.
Figure 4 is an example illustrating a Periodic Enhanced Diffusion Paging scheme according to a first embodiment of the present invention. In Figure 4, the value of BCAST_INDEX, transmitted via a parameter message of MC-RR, is v 1 ', and three (3) broadcast messages are transmitted in a single time slot. If a plurality of broadcast messages are transmitted via a single time slot, the broadcast message may be transmitted during the first time slot of the Broadcast Page cycle. In addition, in the present modality, it is necessary to transmit the information of the Improved Diffusion Page or to allocate in a different way, the information that belongs to the time slot used to transmit the broadcast message in the F-CCCH. Figure 5 is an example illustrating a broadcast scheme of Periodic Enhanced Broadcast Paging according to a second embodiment of the present invention. In Figure 5, a value of the BCAST_EXDEX transmitted via the parameters message of MC-RR, is '1' and the length of a broadcast message occupies three (3) time slots. As illustrated in Figure 5, if there is only one broadcast message to be transmitted and the broadcast message must be transmitted using three time slots, the broadcast message can be transmitted using three consecutive time slots, starting with a first time slot. In this modality, as is the case with the first modality, it is necessary to transmit the information of the Enhanced Dissemination Page. Figure 6 is an example illustrating a broadcast scheme of Periodic Enhanced Broadcast Paging according to a third embodiment of the present invention. In Figure 6, a value of BCAST_EXDICE transmitted via a parameter message of MC-RR, is '1' and there are three broadcast messages to be transmitted. In the present embodiment, there is at least one broadcast message to be transmitted, and the length of each broadcast message exceeds the allowed length for each time slot. As illustrated in FIGURE 6, in the first time slot of the Broadcast Page Cycle, the information on the Enhanced Broadcast Page, which provides if the broadcast message is transmitted as well as if the message location is transmitted of diffusion in the F-CCCH. In addition, the broadcast message corresponding to each Enhanced Broadcast Page must be transmitted after a number 'n' of time slots. That is, a first broadcast message corresponding to a first Enhanced Broadcast Page is transmitted after vn 'time slots, a second message corresponding to a second Enhanced Broadcast Page is transmitted after' 2n 'strips of In the meantime, a third broadcast message corresponding to a third Enhanced Broadcast Page is transmitted after "3n" time slots, and the kth transmission message corresponding to the kth Improved Broadcast Page is transmitted after "kxn" 'time slots. Figure 6 is an example where n = 7. In Figure 6, since there are three broadcast messages to be transmitted and n = 7, the first broadcast message corresponding to the first Enhanced Broadcast Page is transmitted after 7 bands of broadcast. In the meantime, the second broadcast message corresponding to the first Enhanced Broadcast Page is transmitted after 14 timeslots, the third message corresponding to the third Enhanced Broadcast Page is transmitted after 21 times, and so on. The information on the Enhanced Broadcast Page can be transmitted via a General Page Message (GPM) or a Universal Page Message (UPM). The following Table 1 is an example of a GPM format according to the present invention.
[Table 1] Common Fields of the GPM: PDU format for a page directed to the mobile station PDU format for broadcast page: There is no Layer 3 field associated with this record. PDU format for an enhanced broadcast page when NUM BCCH BCAST? ? 000 ': PDU format for enhanced broadcast page when NUM_BCCH_BCAST =? 000 ': Layer 3 fields with this record do not exist.
Table 2 is an example of a UPM format according to the present invention. [Table 2] UPM Common Fields: PDU format for a page directed to the mobile station PDU format for a message advertisement addressed to the mobile station: There are no Layer 3 fields with this record. PDU format for an enhanced broadcast page when NUM BCCH BCAST? ? 000 ': PDU format for an enhanced broadcast page when NUM_BCCH_BCAST =? 000 ': There are no Layer 3 fields associated with this record. As shown in Tables 1 and 2, when the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is not 000 ', the S-BCCH exists to transmit the broadcast message, and therefore, the information associated with that received via the S-BCCH is transmitted. . On the other hand, if the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is? 000 ', there is no S-BCCH by means of which to transmit the message. In itself, the broadcast message is transmitted via the F-CCCH, and it is necessary to transmit the pertinent information to the broadcast information. Table 3 is another example of a GPM format according to the present invention. [Table 3] Common Fields of the GPM: PDU format for a page directed to the mobile station PDU Format for the Broadcast Page: There is no Layer 3 field associated with this record. PDU format for an enhanced broadcast page: A field corresponding to? PDU format for an enhanced broadcast page 'in Table 3 may include different information depending on whether the S-BCCH is supported. In other words, different information can be included depending on whether the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is? 000 'or not. For example, if the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is not '000', the BS sets the value of the field corresponding to 'PDU format for an enhanced broadcast page' to a valid value depending on the transmission format of the broadcast message. At the same time, the MS uses the valid value transmitted from the BS to receive the broadcast message. Alternatively, if the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is? 000 'the BS can adjust the value of the corresponding field to 'PDU format for an enhanced broadcast page' as an unused value or a negligible value by default. In such a case, the MS determines that the value of the field is an invalid value and therefore does not use the value to receive the broadcast message. For example, if the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is '000' the BS can adjust the value of the BCCH_INCORD as the currently unused value. At the same time, the BS can adjust the value of SHIFT_TIME, to be an insignificant value such as '0000000000'. In addition, the value of REPEAT_TIME_DISPLAZING and the value of SUMAR_BCAST_SDU_LENGTH can be excluded by adjusting the value of EXT_BCAST_SDU_LONGITUD_IND to '00'. Table 4 is another example of a UPM according to the present invention. [Table 4] UPM Common Fields: PDU format for a message advertisement addressed to the mobile station: PDU format for a message advertisement addressed to the mobile station: There are no Layer 3 fields associated with this record. PDU format for an enhanced broadcast page: A field corresponding to 'PDU Format for an enhanced broadcast page' in Table 4 may include different information depending on whether the S-BCCH is supported. In other words, different information can be included depending on whether the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is '000' or not. Alternatively, if the value of NUM_BCCH_BCAST is '000' the BS can adjust the value of the corresponding field to 'PDU format for an enhanced broadcast page' as an unused value or a negligible value by default. With respect to the enhanced broadcast page scheme, if the same broadcast message or the same enhanced broadcast page information must be retransmitted, the broadcast message initially transmitted or the enhanced broadcast page information must be retransmitted afterwards. of a specified period of time from the initial transmission time. For example, the retransmission must take place within (4x (B + 7)) time frames of the initial transmission. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications can be made and variations in the present invention without departing from the spirit or scope of the inventions. Therefore, it is desired that the invention covers the modifications and variations of this invention whenever they fall within the scope of the appended claims and second equivalent user tokens.
