통신부를 통해 상기 디스플레이 장치를 제어하기 위한 리모컨으로서 동작하는 외부기기와 통신을 연결하는 단계;
상기 통신부를 통해 상기 외부기기로부터 상기 디스플레이 장치를 제어하기 위한 제어 신호를 수신하는 단계;
상기 제어 신호에 대응되는 기능을 수행하는 단계;
상기 외부 기기 상에 표시된 상기 디스플레이 장치에 설치되지 않은 어플리케이션에 대한 정보 상에 입력된 사용자 명령을 바탕으로 생성된 어플리케이션 다운로드 명령을 외부기기로부터 수신하는 단계;
상기 어플리케이션 다운로드 명령에 기초하여 상기 어플리케이션을 다운로드하기 위한 다운로드 요청을 상기 외부 서버에 전송하는 단계; 및
