Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a meter reading system using a portable terminal and a meter reading method thereof. And more particularly, to a meter reading system using a portable terminal that performs meter reading on a plurality of watt-hour meters each having a wireless communication module and a meter reading method thereof.
In the conventional power meter reading method, a meter reading unit visits a home where a watt hour meter is installed, and performs meter reading by the naked eye. In order to overcome the inefficiency of the meter reading and to perform accurate meter reading, technologies for remotely measuring power by a Smart Grid technology are being implemented.
Such a smart grid technology transmits and receives information in real time by a wireless communication module such as ZigBee, a provider supplying power by a power line communication method, and a consumer consuming power. However, smart grid technology also requires a large-scale infrastructure, making commercialization difficult.
Meanwhile, in recent years, a meter reading method using a PDA terminal capable of receiving information on a power amount from a wireless communication module installed in a watt hour meter has been used. However, such a meter reading method also requires the meter reading person to check the number of the watt hour meter, Is susceptible to interference at 400 MHz.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a meter reading system and a meter reading method using a portable terminal capable of collecting information of a watt hour meter at a time and performing meter reading quickly and accurately.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a meter reading system and a meter reading method using the portable terminal that can accurately calculate and notify a fee.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a meter reading system and a meter reading method using the portable terminal which can reduce the cost required for meter reading.
