Abstract
The present invention relates to a thin display device capable of remarkably reducing the thickness by a back cover of a composite material.
A thin display device of the present invention includes: a display panel for forming an image; A guide panel fixed to a rear surface of the display panel along a rear edge of the display panel; A surface light source unit disposed in an inner space formed by the display panel and the guide panel and supplying light to the display panel; A back cover fixed to the guide panel to cover the inner space, the back cover being made of a resin-containing composite material; And a control unit.
According to the thin display device of the present invention, the thickness can be remarkably reduced by using the back panel which is light and excellent in strength.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a thin display device, and more particularly, to a thin display device capable of remarkably reducing a thickness by a back cover made of an aluminum resin composite material.
2. Description of the Related Art Display devices are widely used in TVs, mobile phones, notebooks, tablets, and the like. They are widely used in plasma display panels (PDP), liquid crystal display (LCD) ; Organic Light-Emitting Display (OLED) devices, and electrophoretic display devices.
In recent years, the organic light emitting display device has attracted the spotlight due to its thinness. On the other hand, the liquid crystal display device is manufactured to be thinner than the OLED display device, despite the advantages of ease of production, It has not been adopted in large-sized televisions and the like because it is difficult.
Accordingly, attempts have been made to implement a thin shape by appropriately arranging components such as a light guide plate, a light source, and a liquid crystal panel, which are necessarily included in a liquid crystal display device.
For example, according to Korean Patent Laid-Open No. 10-2011-0020614, a backlight unit frame in which a guide panel is integrally formed along a rim is provided, and a reflection plate, a light guide plate, and an optical sheet are built in the backlight unit frame , And a light source is disposed on one side of the light guide plate. A liquid crystal panel and a top cover are coupled to an upper portion of the backlight unit structure, and a back cover is attached to a lower portion of the backlight unit frame.
However, the improvement of the structure of such a backlight unit limits the thinness of the liquid crystal display device. Particularly, in order to compete with a recently-launched thin organic light emitting display device, the need for thinning is further increased.
