Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a multimedia system and a control method thereof, and more particularly, to a multimedia system using Bluetooth communication that enables transmission and reception of a large amount of data between a portable device and a multimedia system using a serial port profile (SPP) of Bluetooth communication. And a control method thereof.
The conventional Bluetooth audio system is connected to a mobile terminal, which is a music file such as MP3 and the like by Bluetooth to wirelessly download the music file from the mobile terminal to store in the memory. Another object of the present invention is to provide a multimedia system and a method of controlling the same, which provide a platform capable of executing an application installed in a portable device remotely using the SPP.

According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a multimedia system using Bluetooth communication, the Bluetooth communication unit supporting a wireless connection with the Bluetooth terminal according to a profile provided by the Bluetooth terminal; And a controller for processing the data transmitted from the Bluetooth terminal and displaying the same on a screen.

The profile may be at least one of a Hands Free Profile (HFP), an Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), an Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP), a Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP), and a Serial Port Profile (SPP).
The control unit includes a data receiving unit and a data processing unit. When data is transmitted from the Bluetooth terminal through the connection with the SPP, the Bluetooth communication unit removes a header for transmitting the SPP from the transmitted data, and then buffers the buffer. The data receiving unit removes the data used for the protocol from the data stored in the buffer, transmits the data to the data processing unit, and the data processing unit divides the transmitted data into display data and status data.
In addition, the multimedia system according to the present embodiment further includes a data transmitter for generating transmission data according to a user's input or internal state change, wherein the data transmitter is a protocol for communicating the generated data with the Bluetooth terminal.
