Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a portable terminal, and more particularly, to a portable terminal equipped with a touch screen on part or all of the side edges.
In general, a touch screen is a position where an input means is touched when an input means such as a human hand or a stylus touches a character or a specific position displayed on the screen without using a keyboard. It is an input / output device that receives input data directly from the screen so that specific processing can be performed by the stored software. Accordingly, the touch screen is an input device and a display device that perform input and display of information on one screen. The touch screen is a new input device that can replace an input device such as a mouse and a keyboard, and its use area is gradually expanding. When the touch screen is used for the display device of the portable terminal, the existing keypad can be eliminated, so that the display area can be increased and the user can intuitively operate.
However, in the conventional touch screen terminal, all of the user's input is concentrated on the front screen, and contamination of the user's fingerprints on the front screen or wounds caused by the user may occur, making identification of the screen display difficult or malfunctioning of the screen display operation.
