본 발명은 휴대폰 등의 이동통신 단말기에서 많은 분량의 메뉴나 리스트 등의 정보 중 원하는 정보를 손쉽게 선택할 수 있도록 페이지 단위로 화면을 전환시켜 표시하는 기술에 관한 것이다. 이러한 본 발명은, 여러 종류의 메뉴 또는 리스트에서 임의의 항목을 선택하기 위해 검색모드가 선택될 때, 그 메뉴 또는 리스트를 가상의 페이지 단위로 구축하는 제1과정과; 특정 키신호가 입력될 때마다 상기 가상의 페이지를 업다운시키거나 해당 페이지를 바로 선택하여 화면에 표시하는 제2과정에 의해 달성된다.
