Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for displaying time information in a cellular phone is provided to display time information by using an emergency battery and a separate clock counter when a level of a main battery voltage is less than a certain value, thereby always supplying the time information regardless of main battery power. CONSTITUTION: If a level of a main battery voltage is more than a certain level, a main battery power is continuously used to perform various functions(S1,S2). If the level of the main battery voltage is less than the certain value, a system converts the current main battery power into an emergency battery power, and drives an LCD by using the emergency battery power(S3,S4). The system drives an IC for a clock with the emergency battery power, sets a current time in the IC to synchronize with time information transmitted from a base station, and continuously displays a current time on the LCD by using the outputted time information(S5,S6).
