Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for assigning a scrambling code of a mobile communication terminal is provided to assign a scrambling code group according to a neighboring degree of a cell, thereby improving an initial cell search speed of the mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A system sets one of base stations as a reference base station, and assigns a scrambling code group according to a neighboring degree(S1,S2). When a reference scrambling code is assigned to the reference base station, the system sequentially selects other base stations, and assigns scrambling code groups to the selected base stations according to neighboring degrees(S3-S6).
