상기와 같이 이루어지는 본 발명에 따른 광디스크 장치에서의 패런털 레벨 설정방법은, 디브이디 플레이어(DVD Player) 또는 디브이디 레코더(DVD Recorder) 등과 같은 광디스크 장치에 설정된 국가 코드(County Code)에 대응되는 패런털 관리정보 테이블(PTL_MAIT)이, 디브이디와 같은 광디스크에 기록되어 있지 않는 경우, 광디스크에 기록된 다른 국가 코드를 참조하여, 광디스크에 대한 패런털 레벨을 가변 설정함으로써, 장치 내에 설정된 국가 코드와 유사한 패런털 레벨 정보를 기준으로 정상적인 패런털 락(Parental Lock) 기능을 수행할 수 있게 되는 매우 유용한 발명인 것이다.In the above-described method for setting a parental level in an optical disk device according to the present invention, parental management corresponding to a country code set in an optical disk device such as a DVD player or a DVD recorder is performed.
