Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a character message is provided to simply transmit a short message using a previously stored an origination number abbreviated dial. CONSTITUTION: If a user of an MS(Mobile Station) selects an origination message menu in a displayed mail box function menu(S203), a control unit displays the origination message menu through a display unit(S204). If the user selects a mail write mode in the displayed origination message menu, writes a desired mail, and pushes a confirmation key(S205), the control unit controls the display unit and displays a paging telephone number menu(S206). The control unit judges whether the user selects a paging telephone number input mode or an abbreviated key mode in the displayed paging telephone number menu(S207). If the user selects the abbreviated key mode, the control unit displays a telephone number list stored in a memory on the display unit(S211). If the user selects a desired telephone number in the displayed telephone number list(S212), the control unit transmits a message corresponding to the written mail to an MS of the selected telephone number(S210).
