Abstract

PURPOSE: A mobile computer and a method for controlling a power source thereof are provided to reduce a power consumption by turning off a power to a power supply display unit while a computer is operated. CONSTITUTION: When a power source is supplied by a battery(S1), it is checked whether the status of a display unit is an open status or a close status(S3). If the status of a display unit is an open status, a power supply display unit is turned on(S4). It is judged whether a predetermined time is passed after a system is operated by turning on a power switch(S5,S6). If a predetermined time is passed, the power supply display unit is turned off(S7). If the status of a computer is a waiting mode before a predetermined time is passed(S8) or the display unit is closed, the power supply display unit is turned off(S9).
