The present invention relates to a distributed download control system and a method of a mobile communication terminal, and more particularly, to receive a multimedia content service by synchronizing a plurality of user terminals located in a short distance when receiving multimedia content from a mobile communication terminal. Afterwards, the present invention relates to a distributed download control system of a mobile communication terminal and a method for merging all of them to complete a single content.

Mobile communication terminals that have enabled multimedia display have become commonplace in recent years when IMT-2000 (International Mobile Telecommunications-2000) technology is being pushed forward.

In this way, the mobile communication terminal equipped with the multimedia function is larger than before and adopts a color LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) instead of a single color to enable video on demand (VOD). You can talk while watching the video of the other party.

However, in the related art, since the service fee for downloading multimedia contents using the multimedia terminal is very expensive, a problem arises that the terminal user is economically burdened.

As shown in FIG. 4, a service fee for downloading multimedia content using the multimedia terminal is charged according to the amount of data received for each service content.

For example, e-mail charges 6.5 won per packet of 512 bytes, and 2.5 won per packet of 512 bytes for movies (VOD).

Therefore, when a terminal user downloads and watches a VOD movie, a huge service fee of tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of won is charged.

Accordingly, the present invention has been proposed to solve the above-mentioned problems. In the mobile communication terminal, when receiving multimedia content, a plurality of user terminals located at a short distance are synchronized with each other, and each of them receives a multimedia content service, and then merges all of them. An object of the present invention is to provide a distributed download control system and a method of a mobile communication terminal which complete one content.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a method of designating a server terminal among a plurality of terminals that will use a download service, obtaining content information using the designated server terminal, synchronizing the plurality of terminals, and the server. A terminal for dividing a multimedia content file using the content information to designate a location to be downloaded from each of the plurality of terminals, and the plurality of divided multimedia content files corresponding to the plurality of terminals according to the designated location; Independently downloading and storing the plurality of terminals, and each of the plurality of terminals merging the divided multimedia content files, wherein the divided multimedia content files respectively stored by the plurality of terminals are stored between the plurality of terminals. Prize Exchanging the divided multimedia content files and the downloaded divided multimedia content files by each of the plurality of terminals, and storing the merged multimedia content files by each of the plurality of terminals. Provided is a distributed download control method of a mobile communication terminal, including the merging step.
The present invention also provides a multimedia content server that provides a predetermined multimedia content file as a download, and downloads and stores the multimedia content file from the multimedia content server in synchronization with each other, and merges the divided multimedia content files. A plurality of terminals, wherein each of the plurality of terminals exchanges the divided multimedia content files between the plurality of terminals, merges the exchanged divided multimedia content files and the downloaded divided multimedia content files, and the plurality of terminals. A distributed download control system for a mobile communication terminal, including the plurality of terminals, each storing a merged multimedia content file is provided.
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

Currently, the download service uses a protocol called HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP).

In the download service, the mobile communication terminal can designate the start and end positions of the content to be downloaded in the "Range" header in the HTTP GET method.

If the start position is specified, the multimedia content server transmits the multimedia content as a download from the designated position.

In the present invention, if any one of the N (multiple) terminals is designated as a server terminal, then predetermined information (for example, size information of the total file to be downloaded) is requested to the multimedia content server using the designated server terminal. The server searches the data file (content file) stored in the database to find out the size information of the total file to be downloaded of the corresponding data file and transmits it to the server terminal.

In the present invention, when there are several (N) mobile communication terminals at a short distance, the total file size (S) of the entire multimedia content is divided by the number of terminals (N), and each terminal divides the file size by S / N. Download it.

Each terminal downloads a file size divided by S / N, and then merges all the content files distributed in each terminal into one to complete one content file.

In this way, each terminal user can download and store the content that they want to download at a low cost (S / N).

Since the method of the present invention can be extended without limit to the number of terminals that can be interworked, at least two or more terminals can be used to use the download service at a rate that is at least 1/2 lower than that of the conventional method.

1 is a block diagram showing an operating state of a mobile communication system for distributed download to which the present invention is applied.

Referring to FIG. 1, a mobile communication system is connected to a multimedia content server 140 through an internet network 160.

A mobile communication switching center 150 is connected to the Internet network 160, and a base station controller 130 is connected to the mobile switching center 150.

A base station 111 is connected to the base station controller 130, and a plurality (N) mobile communication terminals 110 are connected to the base station 111 through a wireless link.

The multimedia content server 140 stores the multimedia content as a database, and provides the user terminal 110 with various multimedia contents including still images and videos required by any user terminal 110.

2 is a block diagram illustrating a distributed download control system and a process of a mobile communication terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating an overall operation flow according to a distributed download control method of a mobile communication terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention. As a flowchart, it demonstrates with reference to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 below.

In FIG. 2, three mobile communication terminals 201, 202, and 203 are provided at a short distance, and each terminal is determined between users of each of the mobile communication terminals 201, 202, and 203. Designated by 201 (301).

The designated server terminal 201 communicates with the multimedia content server 140 to obtain content information to be downloaded (302).

The content information is, for example, a content title, a server URL, a file size, and the like.

The server terminal 201 obtains the content information 302 and then synchronizes 303 to exchange information with other terminals 202 and 203 who will use the download service together using local area communication.

The short range communication includes various short range communication in addition to Bluetooth communication and wireless LAN communication, including infrared (IrDA) communication.

In the state where all the terminals 202 and 203 including the server terminal 201 are synchronized 303, the server terminal 201 sets the file size S of the content information to the total number of terminals (N, of the present invention). In the exemplary embodiment, the location (start and end) to be downloaded from each terminal is designated (S / N) by dividing by 3) (304).

The download location designated 304 for each terminal is as follows.

For example, if the file size of the multimedia content is a file of 3 Kbytes (6 packets), each of the mobile communication terminals 201, 202, and 203 designates the location to download by dividing 1 Kbyte (2 packets).

When the location is designated 304, N terminals download and store 305 independently from the location.

That is, the first terminal 201 divides the content file having a file size of 3 Kbytes (6 packets) into three parts, and thus, the first terminal 201 has a content file having a size of 1 Kbyte (0 to 1023 bytes). At the same time, the second terminal 202 downloads and saves a content file having a size of 1 Kbyte (1024 to 2047 bytes), and the third terminal 203 stores the remaining 1 Kbytes (2048 to 3071 bytes). Download and save the content file with size.

The terminal 201, 202, 203 determines whether the download is completed at each designated location (306), if the download is not finished, proceed to the step of receiving the download (305), the determination (306) result When all downloads are completed, the single content file is merged by transmitting and receiving the content files downloaded and stored in each terminal using short-range communication (307).

The process of creating the merged one content file is as follows.

In the embodiment of the present invention, first terminal 201 and second terminal 202 exchange "partial files" downloaded from each other.

That is, a content file having a size of 1 Kbyte (0 to 1023 bytes) downloaded by the first terminal 201 and a content file having a size of 1 Kbyte (1024 to 2047 bytes) downloaded by the second terminal 202 to each other. Merge files on each terminal by swapping.

As a result, the first terminal 201 has (stored) a content file having a size of 2 Kbytes (0 to 2047 bytes), and at the same time, the second terminal 202 also has the same 2 Kbytes (0 to 201 bytes) as the first terminal 201. 2047 bytes) has a content file having a size of (store).

Then, the first terminal 201 and the third terminal 203 exchange the " partial file " downloaded at each other's location.

That is, a content file having a size of 2 Kbytes (0 to 2047 bytes) that the first terminal 201 has in combination with the second terminal 202 and 1 Kbytes (2048 to 3071 bytes) downloaded by the third terminal 203. The contents files having the size are exchanged with each other to merge the files in each terminal.

As a result, the first terminal 201 has (stored) a content file having a size of 3 Kbytes (0 to 3071 bytes), and at the same time, the third terminal 203 also has the same 3 Kbytes (0 to 301 bytes) as the first terminal 201. 3071 bytes) has a content file having a size of (store).

Thereafter, the second terminal 202 receives a file from the first terminal 201 or the third terminal 203.

As a result, the second terminal 202 has (stores) a content file having a size of 3 Kbytes (0 to 3071 bytes).

Therefore, all terminals 201, 202 and 203 consequently have (store) a content file with the size of one completed 3Kbyte (0 to 3071byte).

After all the work is finished, the first terminal 201, which is a server terminal, notifies all terminals that the distributed download task is completed, terminates synchronization with each other (308), and ends all operations.

In this way, when three terminal users receive and store any arbitrary content download, the receiving burden is distributed to one third, thereby reducing the economic burden.

Meanwhile, in the above embodiment, data is exchanged between terminals using short-range communication such as infrared (IrDA), Bluetooth, and wireless LAN, but in another embodiment, various wired networks such as a USB cable may be used. Data exchange between terminals is also possible.

As described in detail above, the present invention synchronizes a plurality of user terminals located in a short distance when receiving multimedia content in a mobile communication terminal using short-range communication, receives a multimedia content service by dividing each of them, and then merges all of the predetermined content. By completing the above, it provides a useful effect that can be used with a small burden (1 / N) of the content files that you want to download each other between terminal users.

In addition, since the download time is actually reduced to 1 / N in the wireless network using the mobile communication terminal, the download speed felt by the user is increased by N times.
