- 포인팅 장치에 있어서,디스플레이 장치 상에서 포인터가 가리키는 곳을 나타내는 위치 신호를 발생하는 네비게이션 유닛;선택이 이루어진 때를 나타내는 선택 신호를 발생하는 선택 유닛;상기 네비게이션 유닛 및 상기 선택 유닛과 무관하게, 상기 포인팅 장치가 조작되고 있다는 것을 나타내는 액티브 신호를 발생하는 센서 유닛; 및상기 네비게이션 유닛, 상기 선택 유닛 및 상기 센서 유닛에 연결되어, 상기 위치 신호, 상기 선택 신호 및 상기 액티브 신호를 수신하고, 이들 신호를 원격 위치로 송신하는 송신 유닛을 포함하는 포인팅 장치.
- 제18항에 있어서,상기 위치 신호는 상기 포인터를 이동시키기 위해 상기 디스플레이 장치의 정의된 좌표 시스템 상의 좌표를 묘사하는포인팅 장치.
- 제18항에 있어서,상기 네비게이션 유닛은, 트랙볼, 터치 패드, 조이스틱 및 다수의 네비게이션 버튼 중 적어도 하나를 포함하는포인팅 장치.
- 제18항에 있어서,상기 선택 유닛은 사용자가 상기 네비게이션 유닛을 이용하여 포인터의 위치를 정하고 버튼을 누름으로써 선택할 수 있도록 하는 선택 버튼을 포함하는포인팅 장치.
- 제18항에 있어서,상기 센서 유닛은 상기 포인팅 장치가 사용중 일때 트리거되는포인팅 장치.
- 제18항에 있어서,상기 센서 유닛은 압력 센서 또는 모션 센서를 포함하는포인팅 장치.
- 표시되고 있는 선택 또는 위치 변화 없이 포인팅 장치가 조작되고 있는지 여부를 판단하는 단계;표시되고 있는 위치 변화 또는 선택이 없어도 만일 상기 포인팅 장치가 조작되고 있으면, 상기 디스플레이 장치 상에 상기 포인터를 디스플레이하는 단계; 및만일 상기 포인팅 장치가 조작되고 있지 않으면 상기 디스플레이 장치 상에서 포인터를 잠복시키는 단계를 포함하는 방법.
- 제24항에 있어서,상기 포인팅 장치가 조작되고 있는지 여부를 판단하는 단계는 상기 포인팅 장치로부터의 액티브 신호에 대한 인터페이스를 감시하는 단계를 포함하고,여기서, 상기 액티브 신호는 표시되고 있는 위치 변화 또는 선택이 없어도 상기 포인팅 장치가 조작되고 있다는 것을 나타내는방법.
- 제24항에 있어서,상기 포인팅 장치가 조작되고 있는지 여부를 판단하는 단계는 상기 포인팅 장치로부터의 액티브 신호에 대한 인터페이스를 감시하는 단계를 포함하고,여기서, 상기 액티브 신호는 상기 포인팅 장치 상의 압력 센서 또는 모션 센서가 내리눌려지고 있다는 것을 나타내는방법.
- 제24항에 있어서,상기 포인터를 잠복시키는 단계는 상기 포인팅 장치가 조작을 중단한 후 소정의 시간 주기 이후에 상기 디스플레이 장치 상에서 상기 포인터를 잠복시키는 단계를 포함하는방법.
- 엔터테인먼트 시스템을 위한 무선 원격 제어 유닛에 있어서,어떤 위치 방향, 어떤 명령 및 어떤 옵션의 선택과도 무관하게, 상기 엔터테인먼트 시스템의 디스플레이 장치 상에 포인터를 디스플레이하기 위한 액티브 신호를 발생하는 센서 유닛; 및상기 센서 유닛에 연결되어, 상기 액티브 신호를 상기 엔터테인먼트 시스템의 무선 수신기로 송신하는 송신 유닛을 포함하는 무선 원격 제어 유닛.
- 컴퓨터 시스템에 있어서,버스;상기 버스에 연결되어, 비디오 이미지를 디스플레이하기 위한 디스플레이 장치;상기 버스에 연결된 프로세서;상기 버스에 연결된 무선 통신 인터페이스; 및상기 무선 통신 인터페이스에 연결된 장치 드라이버를 포함하고,여기서, 상기 장치 드라이버는 상기 무선 통신 인터페이스로부터 수신되는 액티브 신호에 응답하여 상기 디스플레이 장치 상에 포인터를 디스플레이하기 위한 포인터 디스플레이 유닛을 포함하고, 상기 액티브 신호는 어떤 위치 방향 및 어떤 옵션 선택과도 무관하며, 상기 포인터 디스플레이 유닛은 비디오 이미지가 상기 포인터에 의해 방해받지 않고 상기 디스플레이 장치 상에 디스플레이될 수 있도록 하기 위해 상기 액티브 신호를 수신하지 않는 것에 응답하여 상기 포인터의 디스플레이를 정지시키는컴퓨터 시스템.
