Abstract

PURPOSE: A GIS(Geographical Information System) using road map data obtained from track data of a vehicle having a GPS(Global Position System) is provided to fabricate a road map of the GIS by correcting accurately a moving track of the vehicle having the GPS. CONSTITUTION: A GIS using road map data obtained from track data of a vehicle having a GPS includes a vehicle(100) having a GPS, a plurality of reference points(240) for correcting planar coordinates of the vehicle(100), and a central control center(230) for producing the coordinates and an altitude of the vehicle. The vehicle having the GPS is formed with a GPS receiver(120), a direction detector(130), a traveling state detector(140), an altitude detector(150), a present position and path calculation part(160), a system controller(170), an input part(200), a display controller(190), a display unit(180), a transmission controller(210), and a transmitter(220). The GPS receiver(120) is used for receiving a GPS signal and producing the present planar coordinates of the vehicle. The direction detector(130) is used for producing the moving direction of the vehicle. The traveling state detector(140) is used for producing the traveling distance of the vehicle. The altitude detector(150) is used for producing an altitude of the vehicle. A correction coefficient for correcting the planar coordinates of the vehicle is decided by using the reference points(240) and the planar coordinates.
