Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for a surface treatment of lenses and to prevent the projection to an image carrier by stray light by providing an imaging lens system the optical axis of which does not coincide with the scanning plane of a laser beam by a polygon mirror.
CONSTITUTION: The optical axis 24 of the 1st lens 22a is inclined with the scanning plane 21a of the laser beam 20. The stray light 27 generated on the surface of the 1st lens 22a is, therefore, so reflected as to be symmetrical with the laser beam 20 via the optical axis 24 and is again projected to the polygon mirror 21. The stray light 27 is so reflected by the polygon mirror 21 as well as to equal the incident angle and the reflection angle and is largely deviated from the scanning surface of the laser beam 20 without arriving at a photosensitive drum 23. The stray light 27 is thereby prevented from being projected onto the drum 23 and a sharp image having good quality is obtd. thereon.
