Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain good band characteristics with relatively simple constitution by providing a single-layered film having the refractive index equal to the refractive index of a substrate on the outermost layer of the multi-layered films on the substrate and forming nonreflecting films on this single-layered film. CONSTITUTION:The multi-layered films 12 are formed on the substrate 1 to constitute a band-pass filter. The single-layered film 13 having the refractive index equal to the refractive index of the substrate 1 is formed on the outermost layer of the multi-layered films 12 and the nonreflecting films 14 are formed thereon. Namely, the multi-layered films 12 consist of 23 layers; the layers having odd layer numbers are made of TiO2 having 2.25 refractive index and the layers having even layer numbers are made of SiO2 having 1.45 refractive index. The single-layered film 13 is formed as the 24th layer on the outside of the 23rd layer of the multi-layered films 12. The nonreflecting films 14 are formed as the 25th-28th layers on the outside of the single-layered film 13. The ripples in the transmission band are thereby decreased and the good band characteristics are obtd. without using a nonreflecting plate.
