Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance performance regarding wind resistance and earthquake resistance by projecting a sliding anchoring plate from the slab or beam of a lower floor, and embedding a base isolating box in the end face of the lower end of a curtain wall in such a manner that an in-plane clearance is formed between the base isolating box and the anchoring plate. CONSTITUTION: A sliding anchoring plate 9 secured to the slab 4 or beam 3 of a lower floor is projected upward and a base isolating box 10 in which the anchoring plate 9 can be fitted is embedded in the end face of the lower end of a cast-in-place curtain wall 1. The base isolating box 10 is embedded in such a manner that a predetermined clearance 11 is formed only in the in- plane direction of the curtain wall 1. When installed the curtain wall 1 will not be deformed in an out-of-plane direction under an out-of-plane wind pressure and predetermined behavior is permitted in the event of an in-plane shear force caused by a large earthquake, whereby stresses can surely be relieved.
