Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the breakdown time of a machine tool by providing a knowledge base part storing the technical knowledges for diagnoses of troubles on an NC device together with an inference mechanism part which detects the factors of troubles based on the knowledge base. CONSTITUTION:A nonvolatile memory 11b of an NC device 11 contains a knowledge base part IB which stores the technical knowledges for studies of factors and their treating methods of various troubles received from a man-machine interface 11f serving as a conversation means. When a trouble occurs, the conversations are carried out between an inference mechanism ADPR stored in a ROM 11a and the interface 11f. At the same time, the factor of the trouble is detected based on the technical knowledge stored in the IB. Thus the factors of troubles can be quickly informed to an operator and the breakdown time of a machine tool 13 is shortened.
