PURPOSE:To execute packet processing without depending upon a transmission code and requiring rapid processing in each bit by dividing a packet signal into slots, transmitting length information to the leading position of the divided initial slot and adding control information indicating the divided state at every slot. CONSTITUTION:Information LEN indicating the length of a packet signal 100 is added to the head of the signal 100 and the signal 100 is dividedly transmitted to a slotted transmission line 200. A synchronizing signal F for synchronizing slots is applied to a transmission frame, control information corresponding to each slot is formed and packet status information PS indicating which part of the divided packet signal is transmitted by the slot is written.
