Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve vertical resolution by giving memories a storage capacity for two fields and alternately reading picture signals in first and second field memory parts in terms of lines or in terms of respective memories. CONSTITUTION:A high speed transfer pulse and a write gate control pulse alternately divide and transfer the charges of a high speed transfer part 2, the charges of a high speed transfer string 21, for example, between two memory parts 31a and 31b at every line. Consequently, the charges corresponding to two fields (odd field and even field) are stored in the high speed transfer string 21 and the memory parts 31a and 31b. For division, a gate part 51 for division is generated between the high speed transfer string 21 and the memory strings 31a and 31b, and it is controlled by the write gate control pulse from a timing pulse generation circuit 12. Consequently, the picture signals are read for every field through a gate part 61 and a horizontal transfer part 4. Thus, vertical resolution can be improved and flicker due to the time difference of inter-field is prevented from occuring.
