Abstract

PURPOSE:To analyze images at a high speed by reorganizing a 2-dimensional difference image from the image signals of two continuous frames of moving image signals expressed in time series signals to record said difference image without performing time series processing and processing directly the recorded 2-dimensional difference optical signal by means of a light beam. CONSTITUTION:A difference image signal 7 is recorded 2-dimensionally in a space/light modulator 4 and the read light is projected on the modulator 4. Thus the time series signal 7 recorded in the modulator 4 is converted into a 2-dimensional difference optical image signal 12 and extracted. Furthermore, the signal 12 undergoes 2-dimensional photoelectric conversion via a 2-dimensional optical position detector 24 for detection of the centroid coordinates of a difference image. These series of actions are carried out continuously to obtain the moving direction, the moving vector, the moving speed, the motion vector, etc., of the moving image. As a result, the images are analyzed easily and at a high speed.
