Abstract
PURPOSE: To operate a single rectifier in an optimum condition to reduce the cost of a product nitrogen by controlling the feed rate of liquefied air or product nitrogen gas to a condenser-evaporator according to the pressure or flow rate of the product nitrogen. CONSTITUTION: A pressure indicator-adjuster 29 and flow rate indicator-adjuster 30 are attached to an intake duct 28 for a product nitrogen gas PN. When the product nitrogen gas PN demand decreases, a nitrogen gas intake valve 21 is restricted to increase the amt. of nitrogen gas GN in the system and pressure in the intake duct 28 rises, a liquefied air valve 25 is opened accordingly to increase the feed rate of liquefied air LA to the condenser-evaporator 5 from a single rectifier, excessive nitrogen gas GN is liquefied and the nitrogen gas GN is decreased in the system. When the product gas PN demand increases, the intake valve 21 is opened to reduce the pressure in the intake duct 28, the liquefied air valve 25 is restricted accordingly to reduce the feed rate of the air LA to the condenser-evaporator 5, the liquefying rate of the nitrogen gas GN is reduced and the amt. of the product nitrogen gas PN is increased.
