Abstract

PURPOSE:To quickly detect the position of a relevant sentence in a document and said sentence or the words in this sentence with simple operation even though they are not accurately remembered, by displaying simultaneously plural sentences of the same equal partly in each page of a sentence stored in plural pages. CONSTITUTION:In case a sentence to be edited is selected out of a large quantity of sentences stored in a storage means 2, the sentence is designated from an input means 1 via a display designating means 5. Thus a normal display form of a display means 8 is changed and the sentences of each page of a document are partly read out by a reading means 6 and displayed by the means 8. In this case, the sentences of the document are controlled for each page and a page control means 4 designates the partial sentences read out by the means 6 in each page. An operator refers to each partial sentence and judges roughly the position of a desired sentence in the document based on the contents of the partial sentence. Then the operator designates the relevant page via the means 1 and a page designating means 7. Thus all sentences of the designated page are displayed by the means 8. Thus the operator can find out his/her desired sentence out of those displayed ones.
