Abstract

PURPOSE:To rapidly remove moisture and to extremely reduce residual moisture, by heating a plastic particle by a microwave while performing the supply of dried gas and the stirring of the plastic particle. CONSTITUTION:The plastic particle charged in a drying hopper 1 made of steel through a charge port 2 is stirred by the stirrer 4 driven by a geared motor 3. The microwave generated by a microwave generator 5 is introduced into the drying hopper 1 through a microwave supply port 6 to heat the plastic particle. That is, when the plastic particle is dried by the irradiation with the microwave while stirring is performed by the stirrer 4, steam is generated but steam-containing air or gas is discharged to the outside from a discharge port 11 and, since dehumidified air or gas is sent into the drying hopper 1, the inside of the drying hopper 1 is held to a dry atmosphere and drying is performed in said atmosphere.
