Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the adhesion of dross and to reduce the consumption of assist gases by executing laser beam cutting while increasing the pressure of the assist gases by suppressing the outflow of the assist gases from a spacing between the surface of a work piece and the end face of nozzles. CONSTITUTION:The assist gases supplied from a 1st supply hole 59 and a 2nd supply hole 61 are inert gases of the same quality. The pressure of the assist gas to be supplied to the 2nd supply hole 61 is set higher than the pressure of the assist gas to be supplied to the 1st assist gas 59. A sealing member 57 which suppresses the outflow of the assist gas from between the front face and rear face 53 of the work piece W is provided. The dross welded by the projection of a laser beam LB is blown off by the assist gases when the laser beam LB is projected to the work piece W and the assist gases are ejected respectively from an inside nozzle 49 and an outside nozzle 51.
