Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain continuously variable transmission traveling with a wide speed range for both going-forward and going-afterward by combining a non- stage transmission and a mechanical transmission and connecting a clutch through switching of a going-forward/afterward change-over device. CONSTITUTION:When only the first-speed clutch is connected, a planetary gear 12c, the third speed gear 231 and 24 of the third speed epicyclic gear 12 in addition to a planetary gears 9c, 8c, and 11c of the second speed epicyclic gear 9 are fixed. Right and left hydraulic pumps 4 and 5 are of the variable- volume hydraulic pump, while right and left hydraulic motors 6 and 7 are of the fixed type hydraulic motor. Therefore, the ratio of the volume of the hydraulic pump to that of the hydraulic motor can be varied within the predetermined range. Accordingly, the ratio of the revolving speed of the hydraulic motor to that of the hydraulic pump can also be varied. As a result, the revolving speed of gears 21 and 22 can also be varied. With this contrivance, one can obtain continuously variable transmission traveling of a vehicle by, for example, connecting only the first speed clutch 14 and varying the revolving speed ratio of the hydraulic motors 6 and 7.
