Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a cooling unit for baking foods, comprising a lower grill plate and an upper heating panel which defines an adjustable gap and which is rotatable between a use position and a waiting position, and which incorporates a heating means, so that a hamburger or the like is baked simultaneously at opposite surfaces. CONSTITUTION: Four burners 3 are arranged in parallel on the lower surface side of a lower gill plate 1, and a plurality of heater wires 6 are crosswise laid in an upper heating panel 5, hanging from a beam 9. The rear end part of the beam 9 may be turned rearward around a beam fulcrum shaft 11 as a fulcrum. Further, by turning a gap adjusting handle 17 with a hand, a gap adjusting screw bed 5 is rotated through the intermediary of a coupling shaft 17a. Gap adjusting screws 16 are arranged at different heights in a step-like pattern, and accordingly, a support 18 for the upper heating panel is set on any one of the screws 16. The upper heating panel 5 and the beam 9 are provided with an upper cover 10 on the upper surface side. By turning the gap adjusting handle 17 along gradation 20 attached on the upper cover 10, for indicating a gap width, one of the gap adjusting screws 16 is selected so as to obtain a gap corresponding to a thickness of a food.
