Abstract
PURPOSE: To blend constituent element of superconducting ceramics at the atomic level and efficiently produce homogeneous superconducting ceramics of high quality, by blending compounds containing the above-mentioned constituent elements in a liquid state, dry solidifying the resultant blend while heating and sintering the obtained solid.
CONSTITUTION: Compounds containing constituent elements, such as at least La, Sr, Cu, Y or Ba, of superconducting ceramics are blended in a liquid state. The above-mentioned liquid state is preferably obtained by converting the afore- mentioned compounds into an acid solution, such as nitric acid, alkali solution, such as ammonia, or aqueous solution. The above-mentioned blend solution is then dried and solidified while being heated at about 100W150°C. The dry solid, as necessary, is heated to carry out removal of acid radicals. The heating for removing the acid radicals is preferably carried out at about 300W900°C in the air atmosphere. The obtained heated and dried solid is then sintered at, e.g. about 800W1,000°C for about 30minW5hr. Thereby the aforementioned constituent elements are blended in the liquid state at the atomic level to efficiently and homogeneously form and react the superconducting ceramics in a short time.
