Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a ultraviolet-curable resin composition with hydrogen gas generation suppressed, suitable for coating material an optical fiber, filler, etc., by incorporating a resin blend with specific sulfur-contg. compound(s). CONSTITUTION:The objective ultraviolet-curable resin composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of a resin blend (e.g. of urethane acrylate base, acrylic base) with (B) 0.01-3pts.wt. of at least one kind of sulfur- contg. compound selected from B1: thiazoles of formula I (X is H, alkyl, cyclohexylamine, etc.), B2: thiazoles carrying substituent on the benzene ring, of formula II (X' is halogen, etc.), B3: thiurams of formula III (R1-R4 are each 1-8C alkyl; X is 1-6), B4: thioureas of formula IV (R5 and R6 are each H, etc.) and B5: dithiocarbamates of formula IV (R7 and R8 are each alkyl, etc.; R9 is the same as R7 or R8 or amino, etc.).
