Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A ringing choke converter has the series circuit of an excitation winding n1 of a transformer T1 and a main switching element Q1 connected to DC input terminals P, Q, to repeat self-oscillation by the conduction and nonconduction of the element Q1 and to discharge stored energy to capacitors C1, C2. A fourth winding n4 constituted so as to be crossed at right angles with magnetic flux shaped by the excitation winding n1 and windings n2, n3 interlinked with the winding n1 is applied to the transformer T1 in addition to the windings n2, n3 at that time, and the load side is supplied with DC output currents after through said winding n4. Accordingly, the operating frequency of the converter can be kept constant regardless of the magnitude of output power.
