Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain high frequency resolution and to increase the frequency setting speed by comparing the phase of an output of a high-order setting digital synthesizer with that of a fixed frequency division ratio output, controlling the oscillating frequency and coupling the result with an output of a low order digit frequency setting digital synthesizer. CONSTITUTION:The high-order digit setting side aims at outputting of a frequency unable to be outputted by a digital synthesizer itself and is provided with a digit setting digital synthesizer 31 of the same constitution as a low-order digit setting digital synthesizer 20 and with a multiplier 32 multiplying the output frequency of the digital synthesizer 31. That is, a desired frequency is decided by the digital synthesizer for both the low-order digit setting side and the high-order digit setting side. Thus, the frequency division ratio of a fixed frequency divider 33 is reduced. Since the frequency division ratio is not to be changed and the variation in the loop gain is decreased, the frequency setting speed is increased optimizingly. Moreover, since the number of digits is obtained by the digital synthesizer at the high-order digit, the output maximum frequency of the low-order digit side 20 is decreased.
