Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize the management with use of just a single file by using an equation I to obtain the position of a control interval CI storing data when a key-based data set is managed by an extension relative type address. CONSTITUTION:A writing means 18 writes the information into a VSAM catalog 1 to show whether the relative byte addresses RBA included in the catalog 1 and a key-based data set are equal to the extension byte address RBA which is raised to a unit on the control interval boundary or to an ordinary relative byte address RBA. An access control means 17 searches the index of the key- based data set to obtain the corresponding entry in a sequence set based on a user key in case a key access is applied to the key-based data set. Then the position of a control interval CI storing data is obtained from an equation I when the key-based data set is managed by an extension relative type address. Then the obtained CI is searched by keys.
